Pienza
After Multipulciano, we took the bus over to Pienza. Carol Smith from the Mediterranean Garden Society had told me that this is one of her favorite towns, and I see why. It is another beautiful Italian hilltop town overlooking vast expanses of agriculture land. The fall colors are really kicking in at this point...stunning.

The town is packed with plants.

We went to the palace and saw what is considered to be the first renaissance garden.

View from the palace terrace.

The church next to the palace is slipping down the hill. There are major cracks in the floor, ceiling, and wall. Hopefully the efforts to save it will succeed.

After the palace it was time for lunch. The school had made arrangements for us to all eat at a restaurant together and have the famous lasagna.

It was as delicious as it looks!

We had a wonderful time...they just kept bringing wine!

The shops here are amazing. Cheese cheese formaggio formaggio!
