Monteccio
On Saturday I went to a medieval festival at the castle across the valley. It was the first time I've ever walked to a castle! Pretty fun. The countryside was beautiful.
Farm house on the way.
The castle is surrounded by olive orchards.
People going up to the festival. The woman on the left with the dog is the mother of the cook at the school!
House in the olives.
The princesses greeted us on the way into the castle. I'm not sure what I expected to see inside the castle walls, but it wasn't a beautiful garden!
Ken Nakaba (our professor) with the princesses.
View of Castiglion Fiorentino from the castle.
A local artisan hand painting pottery. Her husband makes Eutruscan pottery.
People were selling things to eat at little tables. Everything was so beautiful.
Knock down the cans to win a bottle of C.F. wine!
This was some sort of dice game. Note the beautiful plants.
OK, this was my favorite. She served pecorrino cheese with local fresh honey on bread. It was incredible!
fresh baked bread.
Here they're making the bread.
Start of the parade.
