Name:
Location: Santa Barbara, California, United States

I am a Landscape Architect and own my own design firm, True Nature, in Santa Barbara. I am interested in sustainability, ecological and historic restoration, water quality, water conservation, and lowering automobile dependency with green design for numerous reasons. These values enrich my design work by igniting creativity and a desire to make places that people will enjoy and want to care for. I also enjoy watercolor painting, kayaking, and hiking around beautiful Santa Barbara.

Getting Ready to Go

I'm just setting this blog site up so I can share our adventures in Italy with family and friends. I've been trying to learn Italian, but it's slow going. At least it's similar to Spanish.

My big challenge is packing, though. How do you fit a laptop, a ton of art supplies including a huge roll of trace, camera, charger, and summer and winter clothes in a travel pack and carry-on, both that you have to be able to lift over your head? It's going to be pretty funny to see all of us at the airport lugging all this junk around. I've been looking at travel websites and getting packing tips. The biggest tip? Get rid of half of the stuff you plan to take!

Castiglion Fiorentino Toscana This is a picture I found on the web of Castiglion Fiorentino, the town where we'll be living.
